Rourke & Blumenthal Gives Back to Our Community
Rourke & Blumenthal takes its commitment to the community seriously, and we want to share with you just a few of the ways we like to give back.
Helping Those In Need
Rourke & Blumenthal attorneys and staff recently participated in the Ohio Association for Justice Day of Service, volunteering to sort and package donated food at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank for delivery to those in need in Franklin and surrounding counties. The Mid-Ohio Foodbank is a wonderful organization that regularly provides food to more than 140,000 families in the area, and even more help will be required to help serve those struggling in the coming weeks and months due to the impact of COVID-19.
Helping Our Front-Line Health Care Providers
While we devote much of our time to representing individuals who are the unfortunate victims of medical negligence, the truth is, the overwhelming majority of doctors and nurses in Ohio do a superb job. Many of them are dear friends and they assist us in our mission to help our clients and to improve the quality of care in our communities. At this time, we are in a moment of crisis in our country as a result of Covid-19 and our medical friends need our help. We hope you'll join us in giving to this fund to help keep our front line healthcare workers as safe as possible during this challenge.
Helping Fight Against Cancer
Cancer has unfortunately affected everyone in some way. In an effort to help find a cure, R&B has actively donated to many cancer organizations over the years. Most recently, Mike Rourke participated in the Pelotonia bicycle tour in Columbus, Ohio, to help raise money for cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Everyone here was happy to donate to this great cause and Mike’s efforts.
Helping Children in Need
Rourke & Blumenthal is an active participant in an annual toy drive in honor of Kasey Burleson. Kasey was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident in 2005. However, she gave the ultimate gift of life by donating her organs to help many people in need. This toy drive helps collect toys and clothing for children in need in Central Ohio during the holiday season.
Our firm helped sponsor the first annual John Isaac Randall Golf Outing. This golf outing is in remembrance of a very special young boy and helps assist families in need at Our Lady of Peace School and Overbrook Preschool.
Helping Seniors Graduate
We are a regular contributor to the Sierra Fauver Scholarship Fund. This scholarship was established in honor of Sierra Fauver who tragically passed away as a result of a motor vehicle accident in 2007. The scholarship benefits graduating seniors of Jonathan Alder high school while memorializing a very special person. Information regarding this scholarship can be found at: http://sierrafauver.org/
