Ohio is experiencing an unprecedented boom in oil and natural gas production. While we welcome these economic fortunes, we must also prepare for the new challenges it creates. Oil and gas produced through hydraulic fracturing requires massive amounts of water, which is typically supplied by trucks. At some well sites, 18-wheel trucks make hundreds of trips to bring in the fluid. These loads can exceed 100,000 pounds which can make a potential car accidents and truck accidents more dangerous for all parties involved. Truck traffic is expected to increase by 400% in Ohio, which is certain to result in unfortunate injury accidents.
